Fall Nuts

Something about the turning of the season and the changing colors of the leaves, especially if they are now turning brown and shriveling up, makes us want to enjoy a large handful of roasted nuts. Add some flavorings also associated with the fall season to the nuts and they become a special treat.

Please refer to our prior post on how to make pumpkin pie seasoning before continuing with this recipe, as that is the spice used to make these roasted nuts extra flavorful. These fall spiced nuts, although they make use of homemade pumpkin pie spice, do not contain any actual pumpkin or pumpkin flavor. See additional information below for making use of nuts that may be beyond their best-by date with this tasty recipe.

    Additional Information

This recipe is a great way to use up nuts that have become stale. Roasting stale nuts (NOT spoiled nuts) will bring them back to life by restoring their crunch.

These fall nuts make a decorative topping for pumpkin spice cake (recipe coming soon).
